MAC Climbing Team Blog

Dear Team, Thank you to all the athletes who were able to be at the all team  Friday  practice last week!  Because the team is so big and there are many different practice schedules, it can sometimes be difficult to get to know athletes who you don’t practice with. This practice was intended to be a time for athletes from all teams to climb together and get to know each other. One of the best ways for a younger athlete to learn and improve their skills is to climb with older athletes. And for the older athletes, this practice provided a time to share their love of climbing with eager young athletes. Looking towards the future, we hope to continue these practices once per month.  The next all team practice will be held of Friday May 19 th  at 4:00pm.   Congratulations to everyone who competed at the Source  on Saturday ! Here are  updates on competition and championship events coming up in the next three months. Please remember each athlete on the team (except the Green Team) will need to participate in two USAC sanction comps to be qualified for Regional Championships. Regional Championships will be held in Bend Oregon on May 12 th  - 14th. Divisional Championships will be held June 16 th  – 18 th . Registration for both events are conducted through USAClimbing. (Link below) All  Elite and Silver  athletes should register for Regionals when registration opens. Red, White, and Black  team members mustwait for confirmation from Drew before registering for Regionals.     We will be sending families emails in the coming weeks with confirmation on what to do so you can make the appropriate steps to register and plan for travel.
